Usually time pieces are too common and to be talked about, but some are good enough to catch your attention for their unique design and features. Bertrand planes’ Life Clock looks like any other simple wall clock but rather than showing seconds, minutes and hours, it shows years, months and days. No, it’s not a clock that just displays a date, but its calibration is done such that it can show age of a given person. The clock’s dial is initially divided into ‘twelve’ equal parts which are marked as multiples of ‘seven’, starting from ‘zero’. These major markings represent years and each minor marking on the circular scale represent 6 days (approx.). This clock uses a normal clock machine which has been slowed down 61320 times.
To look at a clock that shows how old you are can surely be depressing for many people but then this seems to be a collector’s item from Antoine de Galbert’s vault.
