Craftsmanship is the True Mark of the Most Expensive Watches

The most expensive watches can only be owned by a select few, but, nevertheless, there are so many great looking timepieces that we can afford anyway. For instance, I’ve settled for a second-hand Rolex, but it was a great buy since it’s still functional after having used it for a couple of years. It hasn’t tarnished at all, and I must admit that it still looks great after all these years. I remember buying it on a payday loan, but it wasn’t enough, so I also used some savings I had in the bank. As for the most expensive watches, ordinary beings like us can only salivate and dream of owning one. What makes a watch expensive is not the precious gemstones that adorn it; instead, it is the craftsmanship that differentiates a high quality watch from the ordinary. That being said, the most expensive watches in the world are created by the best watch crafters around like Vacheron Constantin, Blancpain, Girrard Perregaux, ChronoSwiss, Chopard, Audemars Piguet, and Jaeger-LeCoultre. Chopard’s 201-carat watch holds the distinction of being the most expensive watch in the world and is worth $25 million while Patek’s Supercomplication which was auctioned off in 1999 was awarded to an anonymous buyer who paid $11 million for it. When you are going to buy a watch determine the price range that you are willing and able to pay. If you are going for the high end luxury watches like Rolex, you may want to buy used models because a brand new Rolex can still cost a fortune. However, if you are the type who collects watches then you may go for the brand new Rolex, after all, this brand is known for its durability and can in fact last a lifetime. For those who wear watches for their functional use or simply for fashion, I suggest you go for the low end.
