TAG Heuer has always led Swiss watch making tradition by creating its most time-honored conventions. And Monaco V4 is the one example. This amazing timepiece is now available in a pre-series of 20 units; two of them have been worn by Tag Heuer representatives at the Baselworld 2007.
The amazing Tag Heuer Monaco V4 is a sleek Concept Watch that mixes breakthrough technology with advanced integrated mechanical movement design.
Monaco V4 is the first watch to use a drive-belt transmission and a linear oscillating mass and the concept is inspired by car engines. For automatic winding, it uses a 4.25-gram platinum ingot which acts as a sort of cylinder, in a linear movement. Then it changes the transmission of power from the traditional wheels to a drive-belt transmission: using 13 drive belts whose tension is controlled by turnbuckles and whose gauge measures a slender 0.5x 0.45 mm which has never been done before.
The watch also features stainless steel case and alligator strap with folding buckle. This belt-driven timepiece is currently put through intensive testing to meet Tag Heuer’s high quality standards and to obtain a COSC chronometer certification.
