Watch out : URWERK-UR202 has an innovative winding system
The URWERK- UR-202 is the most incredible creation I have ever come across. It is the world’s first wristwatch to feature an innovative new winding system which utilizes miniature turbines to compress air to regulate the self-winding mechanism of the movement. A switch on the back of the watch, lets you adjust the air pressure, passing through the turbines. The watch has AlTiN coating which protects it form shocks, oxidation and scratches. The timepiece tells time by using the telescopic minute hands, operating through the middle of three orbiting and revolving hour satellites. The watch looks truly innovative, with a slightly complicated dial.No pricing info is available as yet. Via: Urwerk
Bertrand planes Life Clock: Strictly Personal!
Usually time pieces are too common and to be talked about, but some are good enough to catch your attention for their unique design and features. Bertrand planes’ Life Clock looks like any other simple wall clock but rather than showing seconds, minutes and hours, it shows years, months and days. No, it’s not a clock that just displays a date, but its calibration is done such that it can show age of a given person. The clock’s dial is initially divided into ‘twelve’ equal parts which are marked as multiples of ‘seven’, starting from ‘zero’. These major markings represent years and each minor marking on the circular scale represent 6 days (approx.). This clock uses a normal clock machine which has been slowed down 61320 times. To look at a clock that shows how old you are can surely be depressing for many people but then this seems to be a collector’s item from Antoine de Galbert’s vault. Via: swissmiss
